Yet another type of reaction which can occur with insect bites and stings is a serum sickness reaction. The saliva released by the bug in the bite area also causes your babys immune system to respond. Common symptoms of mosquito bites include soft bumps. The bites usually dont hurt at first a child might not even be aware of the bite but in some cases they cause swelling changes in skin color and a blister which can later scar. Most people develop some redness and itching after a mosquito bite. Unfortunately some children will have whats known as a large local reaction or Skeeter syndrome.
